Who's accountable when AI takes action nobody authorised?

IT Support in the Age of AI: Shadow AI, Access & Accountability

Today, almost every employee uses AI at work, sharing data with AI tools and granting them access to company systems. Along the way, they approve integrations that IT teams may not even be aware of. Meanwhile, AI tools have crossed a new threshold: they're no longer just making suggestions. They're taking action.

Do you know what AI is doing inside your organisation?

In this webinar, we'll explore which AI tools are actually running across your organisation's systems, who and what has access to your data, and what happens when an automated action goes wrong. Who's accountable, and what do the audit logs reveal?

01 · Market Context

AI is already inside your organisation. Unfortunately, you weren't the one who let it in.

Shadow AI is driven by initiative, not rule-breaking. An employee opens a tool in their browser, and by the afternoon, the report is ready. They don't ask for permission because there's no clear process for doing so. The productivity benefits are clear. But so are the risks. In the process, company data and access to business systems may have already moved beyond your organisation's control.

70%

By 2029, 70% of enterprises are expected to use agentic AI in IT infrastructure and operations.

In 2025, adoption was still below 5%.

40%

By 2028, 40% of I&O organisations deploying agentic AI at scale in production environments are expected to experience business-critical service outages.

In 2026, this figure is still below 1%. As AI becomes more autonomous, operational control becomes increasingly critical.

97%

97% of organisations that experienced an AI-related data security incident lacked adequate AI access controls.

In many cases, the underlying issue was inadequate control over who and what could access business systems and data.

02 · The Program

Five essential topics we'll cover

From Shadow AI to autonomous agents, we'll explore the challenges of visibility, security and accountability, providing a practical framework to help you make informed decisions about AI in your own IT environment.

01 | Shadow AI & Visibility

What AI tools are already operating inside your business?

Discover how to identify AI tools and integrations across your organisation, understand where company data is being shared and gain visibility into activity beyond IT's oversight.

02 | Data Security & Access

Find out what data is leaving your organisation and who authorised it.

Explore how OAuth permissions, Microsoft 365 integrations and third-party applications create new access risks, and how IT teams can monitor permissions and protect sensitive business information.

03 | Microsoft 365 & AI Readiness

Prepare your Microsoft 365 environment for agentic AI.

Explore what Copilot and agentic workflows mean for permissions, SharePoint content, identity management and access to company data.

04 | AI Agents & Operational Control

What happens when AI takes action nobody authorised?

Explore how to establish clear boundaries for autonomous AI agents, including permission controls, human approval processes, monitoring and safeguards against unintended actions.

05 | Accountability & IT Support

Clarify where internal IT responsibilities end and your service provider's begin.

Explore what should stay in-house, what makes sense to outsource and how to define responsibilities, incident response and accountability in your contracts.

Live Q&A. Bring your questions and discuss the practical implications for your organisation with our experts.

The Webinar's Perspective

The starting point is a business decision, not a technology. We’re exploring how enterprise AI stays under your control:

01
sensitive data should remain within the corporate environment
02
The cost of AI should be predictable
03
Company policies should determine where a request is routed
04
The use of AI should be loggable and traceable
05
The choice of a plan should not depend on a single provider
